HOSTELS WORLDWIDE SECURE INTERNATIONAL PRESS COVERAGE
Eight hostels have been named as ‘the best in the world’ in a recent Sunday Times article.
The piece shines a spotlight on hostels from around Europe and the US, including Native Hostels in Texas, Grand Ferdinand in Austria and our client Long Story Short in the Czech Republic.
We love to see articles like this which promote the hostel experience – especially in far-reaching publications like the Times, which is one of the UK’s leading newspapers. It’s great publicity not only for the hostels featured but for the industry as a whole and helps to challenge any negative perceptions that still remain around hostels among modern travellers.
That being said, we would like to see these articles featuring hostels from ALL around the globe as we know that standards are just as high outside of the Western world.
HOSTEL CHE PLAYA SHOW OFF GUEST EXPERIENCE WITH FANTASTIC CONTENT CREATION
Over the past few weeks, Hostel Che Playa’s Instagram content has caught our eye. Their group shots – which show travellers posing and having fun on the beach – are great best practice examples if you’re looking for creative ways to get guests involved in your photos.
Sharing a variety of high quality group photos, their Instagram feed does a fantastic job in showing off the kind of activities and experiences travellers have when staying there. From pool party pictures to ‘family’ BBQ snaps, Hostel Che Playa really capture the vibe of their popular place and their unique content ensures they stand out from their competitors.
Their recent shots have seriously got us counting down the days until we get to book a trip.
HO36 HOSTELS JETTING TO SUCCESS
Travelling recently from Porto with Easyjet, we were flicking through the in-flight magazine and came across a familiar face, or should we say hostel.
Ho36’s Les Menuires secured a spot in the magazine’s ‘Hotel Finder’ feature which lists the best places to stay for different kind of travellers across European cities. They were named as ‘The one for… Thrifty winter hijinks’.
Described as a ‘stylish, laid-back spot where rooms start from €22’, this is a seriously great piece of coverage for Ho36 to boost brand awareness to a wide range of people with an interest in travel.
The French chain – which positions itself as ‘a new generation youth hostel…for all generations!’ – has five properties in total: Les Menuires, Avignon, La Plagne, and two in Lyon.
INFLUENCER WIN FOR CURIOCITY
Our client and leading South African hostel chain Curiocity collaborated with travel influencer GoPhari last month.
GoPhari is a certified South Africa travel specialist who has a clear authority on travelling in the region. As a micro-influencer, she has almost 10,000 Instagram followers and high levels of engagement.
During her stay, she was joined by friend and fellow influencer JustRioba. They took part in a variety of activities on offer at Curiocity’s Durban spot, including surfing lessons, beach yoga and cycling.
Afterwards, she posted on her blog and social media about her stay and shared a great video on her YouTube channel. Along with footage of the activities, the video showcased the hostel itself with shots of the ladies relaxing in the hostel bar, reading in the courtyard and kicking back in their private room. You can check it out below.
