These are the 10 most popular questions we are asked…

We wanted to address the more common questions we receive – from how we work to what we charge – so read on for some insights into working with us…

1. HOW CAN YOU MANAGE MY MARKETING IF YOU AREN’T IN THE SAME LOCATION AS ME?

While we are based in London, we work with businesses all over the world – from South Africa to Singapore and beyond.

Every service and package we offer starts with a strategy – as part of putting this together, we conduct extensive market research so we can fully understand your business in the context of its specific locality. We also speak to you and your team to develop a better understanding of your current target markets, your business objectives and any challenges you might be facing.

Through the power of email, video chat, WhatsApp and Slack, we keep in constant contact with our clients. Chances are, if you were working with an agency in your local area, you would communicate largely via email and only have face to face catch ups on a monthly basis, if that. In fact, one of our current clients who used to work with an agency in his own city told us that he and his team are in much more regular contact with us.

2. HOW MUCH DO YOUR SERVICES COST?

Our prices vary because we offer a completely personalised service to each brand we work with. A ‘one size fits all’ approach simply didn’t work – instead, we provide custom quotes based on your needs, goals and budget.

Some of our clients prefer to start small and build in other services over time, which is totally fine with us. We can also work on a project-by-project basis, rather than a monthly contract.

3. CAN YOU SHOW THE RETURN ON INVESTMENT OF YOUR WORK?

We can! On average, for every £1 our clients spend working with us they get £12 back in increased revenue.

We know how important it is that you see the return on your investment and we want you to feel confident that you have made the right decision in choosing to work with us.

When we work together, you will receive a detailed report each month with key stats to help you track the progress we are making. Stats include booking revenue, overall website visits and your website conversion rate. In your first month, you will also receive a guide to reading this report so that you and your team can fully understand what the stats mean and how this supports your business objectives.

Every 3 months, you will receive a quarterly report – this will cover the same stats as the monthly report and will compare these figures to the previous quarter. These reports allow you to see the progress we are making against our targets and demonstrate the return on your investment. If you’d like to see an example of these reports, just get in touch.

In the interests of full transparency, you will also have full access to our data software where you can all stats relating to your digital marketing in real-time. We also organise monthly catch-ups to discuss the reports and set new objectives as we achieve the original ones outlined in your marketing strategy.

4. WILL I HAVE TO SIGN A LONG CONTRACT?

Absolutely not – locking our clients into long contracts just isn’t our style. We want you to WANT to work with us, not feel tied into an agreement. That’s why our contracts are all offered on a 3-month rolling basis. This gives you the freedom and flexibility to add services in or scale back in some areas as you see fit.

5. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO WHEN WORKING WITH STAY THE NIGHT?

When working with us, you can be as hands-on – or hands-off – as you like. Some teams like to be involved by communicating regularly and brainstorming new ideas with us (which is always a lot of fun). Others are happy to take a step back, let us handle the day to day work and check in on progress at our monthly meetings. Everybody is different and your level of involvement is entirely up to you.

The most output we will need from you will be in the first week of working together. Along with your contract, you will receive our New Partner Welcome Pack which includes a short checklist to help us get everything up and running smoothly. The contents of this checklist vary from service to service.

6. WHY SHOULD I INVEST IN DIGITAL MARKETING?

Investing in your digital marketing is a smart move and should be seen as an investment rather than an expense – especially when you consider how high the return on this investment will be. As mentioned above, for every £1 our clients spend working with us they get £12 back in increased revenue.

We can confidently say that digital marketing is the single most effective way to increase web traffic, grow your revenue and build lasting relationships with your guests. Today your target markets do everything online – from seeking inspiration for their next trip to booking accommodation to sharing their experiences on social media. As a result, they are expecting more from how businesses communicate.

But you don’t need to take our word for it – you just have to listen to what your target audience is saying. More than half of 18-34 year olds say they wouldn’t book a stay if the property’s website was difficult to use, 1 in 4 millennials have been inspired to book a trip solely from travel posts on Instagram and over a third of Gen-Z travellers have chosen a destination specifically because they saw a post about it on social media. If you haven’t got your digital marketing in check, you are undoubtedly losing out on bookings and revenue.

7. How does your social media management service actually work?

We get asked about social media management more than any other service which is why we wanted to cover it specifically here. This service involves us taking over the management of your social channels. We currently cover Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

As a first step, we review your social media insights from the past 3 months and use this data to set targets as part of your digital marketing strategy (which is included with all our services).

We would then post an agreed number of times a week on each platform depending on your package – we recommend a minimum of 3 posts per week. You don’t need to contribute anything to the posts – all we would need from your team is to keep us up to date with any events you have taking place so we can add these to our content calendar.

Aside from strategy and posting, our social media management service includes managing all customer service activity on your social channels – from answering questions to responding to comments and tagged content. We also devise social media campaigns and competitions in agreement with you and your team.

8. What sort of budget do I need to start paid social ads?

When it comes to paid ads, you get out what you put in. If you’re just starting out with paid ads, we recommend starting with an absolute minimum budget of £200 per month and testing different strategies to see what works for you. As you get more confident and start to see results, you can increase your budget.

We have achieved ROI as high as 66:1 on a paid ad campaigns we have run for a client – meaning for every £1 they invested in their ads budget, they got back £66 in revenue. So we can confidently say that it is worth the investment.

9. We worked with an agency before but didn’t have a great experience – how are you different?

We are different from a traditional marketing agency in a number of ways. Immersing ourselves in the hospitality industry means that we have a better understanding than most of the challenges your business might be facing and new opportunities on the horizon. This is a unique industry that requires a unique approach and that is something we deliver.

We are also different in the way that we work. As mentioned above, everything we do is fully transparent – if something we’re doing isn’t working, we’ll be the first to speak up and suggest a different approach (just ask our clients!). We will never recommend an approach that we don’t believe will work for you.

Our whole approach is built on the idea that you are not simply our ‘clients’ – you are our colleagues. Your success is our success.

10. CAN YOU WORK WITH MY CURRENT MARKETING TEAM?

We certainly can. From managing direct booking drives on social media to supporting on PR campaigns, we are flexible in our approach and happy to support your current marketing team in achieving your goals.

These are just a few of the most popular questions we are asked – if you have any other questions or would like more information on ways we can support you, just get in touch or drop us a message on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn. We’re always happy to chat.
